The principal use of slag cement is as a cementitious material in concrete.  It can replace between 20 and 80% of the portland cement in concrete, depending on application, job requirements, and environment conditions.  It also improves concrete strength and durability.  The table to the right provides typical ranges of the use of slag cement in concrete (click here for more information on concrete proportioning).
