Halmar International used slag cement for durability on this design build three highway (Grand Central Parkway, Jackie Robinson Parkway, and VanWyck Expressway) interchange. Slag cement was used for mass concrete and increased the roadway durability. The interchange is a high volume roadway connecting John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGH), and Long Island.
