Farmington Hills, Mich., (April 24, 2025) – The Slag Cement Association (SCA) successfully concluded its fourth annual Slag Cement School in Houston, Texas. The educational event, held on April 21 and April 22, featured technical presentations on the benefits of slag cement in concrete design and construction, as well as sustainability tools and resources available to the concrete industry. On the second day, attendees were treated to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of Texas Lehigh Cement’s new slag cement plant.

SCA President Jan Prusinski welcomed more than 80 attendees from 15 different states to Slag Cement School. Along with the technical presentations from SCA members, the event also included networking opportunities for industry professionals.

"The Slag Cement Association is thrilled with the record-breaking turnout at this year’s Slag Cement School." said Nick Brimley, SCA Director of Membership and Marketing. "The high level of engagement we saw reflects the growing interest in slag cement in not only the region but the entire country."

Attendees received a behind-the-scenes tour of Texas Lehigh Cement's slag cement plant on April 22, 2025.

The physics in Eggy Car are actually pretty satisfying. At first it looks easy, but once the terrain gets steeper it really tests your timing and patience.

It's impressive that over 80 professionals from 15 states gathered to learn about slag cement's role in sustainable concrete design. The behind-the-scenes plant tour probably gave attendees real-world context that textbooks simply can't provide. For anyone needing to decompress after intensive industry events like this, https://freeasmr.net offers gentle background audio that works well during late-night report writing.

I learned so much about the durability benefits of slag cement during the sessions in Houston. I took a lot of detailed photos of the concrete mix demonstrations on my iPhone to share with my engineering team back at the office. To make sure the images were compatible with our internal project management software, I used Best Heic Convert Png to quickly turn those HEIC files into high-quality PNGs. It’s a great tool for keeping our technical documentation clear and accessible for everyone!

The 2025 Slag Cement School in Houston provided some incredible insights into sustainable concrete solutions. However, after two full days of walking through production facilities and standing during the technical sessions, my lower back and legs were feeling the strain. I’ve been using Nature Pain Relief Patches to manage that post-event soreness naturally. It’s so much easier to stay engaged with these important industry updates when you aren't distracted by physical discomfort!

Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
