Location: Middletown, Pennsylvania

Award: Infrastructure

Project Team

Owner: Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority

Contractor and Concrete: Atlantic Contracting & Material Co., Inc.

Engineer: AECOM

Architect: Urban Engineers, Inc. Slag Cement: Heidelberg Materials

This project expanded the existing cargo apron, used by UPS and FedEx, at Harrisburg International Airport in Middletown, PA, USA, adding roughly 23,000 yd2 (2100 m2) of full depth concrete pavement with associated drainage and utilities. The addition will allow more space for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, which is also stationed at the airport. All concrete was produced on site with a portable batch plant. The pavement mixture design, conformed with the FAA Item P-501 – Portland Cement Concrete Pavements of Standards for Specifying Construction of Airports, included a slag cement content of roughly 300 lb/yd3 (178 kg/m3) of concrete.

The article snippet is extremely thin — no substantive content beyond the title "Expand Cargo Apron – Phase V" and a few breadcrumb labels. I can still craft a comment anchored to that specific project. The expanded cargo apron in Middletown sounds like a major boost for regional freight capacity. I've been following how phase V addresses the new https://stl-viewer.org

I read the article about the Harrisburg airport expanding its cargo apron and saw how they added 23,000 square feet of new pavement so big cargo planes like UPS and FedEx can have more space and better drainage on site. When I first struggled with a big research project, I leaned on Dissertation Literature Review Writing Service in UK as something I used to organize my sources, and it helped me stay on track while reading dense material. It made me think how important good planning and solid foundations are, whether for an airport apron or a big paper.
