Farmington Hills, Mich., (Jan. 15, 2026) – The Slag Cement Association (SCA) is pleased to announce Herb Moeckel of Ozinga as its next President. Moeckel previously served as SCA’s Vice Chair and has been a member of the association’s Board of Directors for eight years.

An industry leader in cement and supplementary cementitious materials, Moeckel is Vice President and General Manager of Ozinga Cement, a division of Ozinga responsible for the procurement, sales, and distribution of domestic and imported cement, slag cement, fly ash, and silica fume.

Prior to joining Ozinga in 2017, Moeckel spent 18 years in the fly ash industry with ISG Resources, Headwaters, and Boral. During that time, he held roles as a technical sales representative and area director, overseeing operations across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Illinois.

“I am thrilled to serve as the Slag Cement Association’s next President,” said Moeckel. “SCA is the leading authority in promoting and advocating for the use of slag cement to produce stronger, more durable, and more sustainable concrete.”

Jan Prusinski of Skyway Cement Company concluded his two-year term as SCA President in 2025. During his tenure, Prusinski hosted the association’s annual Slag Cement Schools, oversaw the recognition of more than 25 concrete projects through the Slag Cement in Sustainable Concrete Awards, and welcomed four new member companies to the association.

“It has been an honor to serve as President of the Slag Cement Association,” said Prusinski. “I am proud of the progress we made in expanding education and strengthening the association’s membership. I look forward to continuing to support SCA and its mission under Herb’s leadership.”

The Slag Cement Association thanks both Herb Moeckel and Jan Prusinski for their dedication and leadership in advancing the association’s mission to serve as the leading source of knowledge and technology transfer supporting the growth of slag cement.
