A brown field site that was a Ford assembly plant in Wixom, MI, USA, has been renovated into a warehouse district. Wayfair, Amazon, and several others are making use of this centrally located area near Interstate 96. The project used slag cement in the tilt-up concrete panels, paving, and floors for its strength, consistency, and improvement to finishing characteristics. Slag cement helped to provide consistency in color, and it met the needed strength levels—including the early strength requirements of tilt-up panels.
